- "..This poor soul was washed up by river, but no one knows who he is." —River Dweller
A Corpse with No Name is a side story in Octopath Traveler. The tale begins by speaking to the River Dweller found in the southern area of East Saintsbridge Traverse, near the river.
Resolution[]
The side story may be resolved using one of two methods:
Guide / Allure[]
Travel to Victors Hollow. Use the Guide or Allure path action on the Restless Woman ( Min Lvl: 5 / Base: 80% ) near the Provisioner store.
The tale ends once the Restless Woman is brought to the River Dweller.
- "With your help, the woman was able to find the body of and lay her husband Hugo to rest."
Purchase / Steal[]
Travel to Farshore at the south end of East Saintsbridge Traverse. Successfully use the Purchase or Steal path action to obtain Hugo's Journal from the Unsavory Man ( 4,200 / Lvl 41 ) standing at the bridge in the north.
The tale ends once Hugo's Journal is given to the River Dweller.
- "A look at the deceased's notebook revealed the owner's identity as "Hugo." The body was interred with its rightful name restored."
Epilogue[]
Upon completion of the side story, the following occurs:
- The River Dweller relocates to Saintsbridge and the Restless Woman changes her name to Flower-loving Widow. The Flower-loving widow also moves one step to the north of her initial location only if the Purchase/Steal path was chosen.
- If the Purchase/Steal path was chosen, a gravestone will appear near the River Dweller's initial location. Interacting with the gravestone yields the following message:
(The gravestone reads, "Here lieth Hugo")
Trivia[]
- If both the item Hugo's Journal has been obtained and the Restless Woman is following the group when speaking with the River Dweller, a dialog box appears, giving the player the choice of which resolution path to follow.
